Nicky needed to find a place to live quickly because her landlord sold the house she was living and gave her notice to move out. 

I met Nicky is at spin class. We had gotten to know each other at our local gym in between hill climbs, sprints, and hovering on the spin bike at 5 am. She was in a bit of a panic because her landlord had just accepted an offer within two days of putting the house on the market. She needed a place STAT and was ready to jump back in to homeownership.

“After getting to know Leslie during spin, I wanted to work with her. I felt like I could trust her and knew that we got along well at 5 Am and that we would work well together. She is approachable and easy to talk to.”

Nicky had a few priorities that were non-negotiable. She was very budget minded and, more importantly, she needed a place that she could keep her dog, Toby, happy. She preferred to move to Lehi so she could be close her clients and social life. We looked at numerous properties within her budget and submitted offers on many of them and kept getting outbid with multiple offers. It was clear what was important to her but with the pressure of being homeless she started considering properties that simply didn’t meet her priorities and she was getting discouraged getting outbid on so many offers. We spent a lot of time talking through the emotional roller coaster of purchasing a property on a limited budget in such a hot market. She was a rockstar and stayed focused and kept moving forward.

She was willing to consider looking outside of her preferred locations and we soon started focusing on locations further south in Springville and Spanish Fork. She had initially not wanted to consider new construction because of the time it took to get finished but after looking at a new construction project building townhomes in her budget she began to reconsider. The builder had a townhome available that was within a month of completion. This was awesome!!! Nicky had made arrangements to stay with a friend for a short time between moving out of her current place and closing on the new property. She wasn’t going to be homeless after all and Toby had a comfortable and safe place to be with her.

After nearly a year in her new place we still meet up at 5am at the local gym. The hill climbs, sprints, and hovering on the spin bike still push us to our max but, fortunately, the buying process didn’t do Nicky in. She’s considering making another move this year to a location further north and keeping the townhome as a rental property. 

Toby will still be along for the ride!
