While we won’t be enjoying any “raindrops on roses” this holiday season in Utah, you might experience your fill of “warm woolen mittens” and “snowflakes that stay on your nose and eyelashes.”

The holidays are a time when we get to indulge in and enjoy many of my favorite things—from family get togethers to delicious desserts. But how do your favorite holiday things compare to the rest of Utah? Here’s a compilation of Thanksgiving and Christmas classics that Utahans love.

Utah’s Favorite Thanksgiving Recipe

Jell-O

It might not be a surprise that this jiggly dessert—which is our official state food and appeared on an Olympic pin during the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics—topped the list of the most-Googled Thanksgiving recipes in Utah, according to a 2018 Mental Floss article. Nevada and Idaho have jumped on the Jell-O bandwagon, making Jell-O the most-Googled recipe in their states as well.

Utah’s Favorite Thanksgiving Side Dish

It’s a toss-up

According to the Huffington Post, Utahans love their yams. But the New York Times disagreed, insisting funeral potatoes are an unusually popular dish in Utah at Thanksgiving. And to make matters even more confusing, Reader’s Digest said that crescent roll recipes were Utah’s favorite. I guess when it comes to Thanksgiving, Utahans love all the food!

Utah’s Favorite Thanksgiving Dessert

Pumpkin pie

According to a 2017 Huffington Post article that collected three years of Google data, pumpkin pie is the dessert of preference for Utahans when it comes to Thanksgiving.

Utah’s Favorite Christmas Song

“The Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole

According to FM100.3, who gauged the popularity of Christmas songs based on number of requests, “The Christmas Song” is the most popular Christmas song in Utah. “White Christmas,” “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,” “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow,” and “Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer” rounded out the top five.

Utah’s Favorite Christmas Candy

Reindeer Corn

In 2017 and 2018, reindeer corn topped the list for Utah’s favorite Christmas candy, according to  candystore.com. While most people associate this sweet treat with Halloween, Utahans are a little unusual in their candy-eating habits and love the Christmas-colored variation. In 2017 Hershey’s Kisses and Skittles took the second and third place among Utah’s favorite candy treats, and in 2018 Hershey’s Kisses and M&Ms rounded out the top three.

Utah’s Favorite Christmas Dessert

Butterscotch Gingerbread Cookies

While maybe not officially voted a “Utahan favorite,” Taste of Home found the holiday dessert recipes with the highest rating from bakers from each state. Utah’s was a fun twist on a traditional Christmas favorite.

Utah’s Favorite Christmas Dish

Crepes

According to spoonuniversity.com, crepes are Utah’s most popular Christmas dish. While they might not seem like traditional holiday fare, there’s no doubt this tasty breakfast makes for a great, quick meal between present opening and family visits.

Utah’s Favorite Christmas Movie

It’s a Wonderful Life

But it was a close call. On a 2017 KSL poll, 32.79 percent of Utahans said It’s a Wonderful Life was their favorite Christmas movie, while 30.56 percent said National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and 24.07 percent said A Christmas Story.
